Kale – the green gold from northern Germany!
Kale is a typical winter vegetable which, when prepared, looks very similar to spinach. The tradition for eating kale goes back to the furthest in Bremen where a public kale feast has been held since 1545.
Kale develops its very pleasant taste only after the first frost. During the cold months of the year many people also enjoy the traditional, casual outings that always end with an enjoyable meal of delicious cabbage with the sausage called “pinkel” in colloquial German.
